Laura joined Cryosa as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2022. Laura brings nearly three decades of experience in strategy, business development and global general management to the role. She has a passion for developing and commercializing novel products to improve the standard of care. Most recently, Laura was Sector Chief Executive at Halma PLC with responsibility for $1B revenue. While at Medtronic, she served Vice President and General Manager at Medtronic Diabetes and built a new business focused on Type 2 patients. Laura served as Chief Commercial Officer at Exact Sciences Corporation, where she was responsible for developing the global commercial strategy, prior to FDA approval. Earlier in her career, she held escalating commercial and leadership roles at General Electric, including leading GE Healthcare’s global bone densitometry business and completing a number of acquisitions. Laura earned an MBA at Columbia Business School and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and management at Bucknell University.

Don Gonzales is the founder and Chief Medical Officer of Cryosa. In addition to his role at Cryosa, he serves as Chief Medical Advisor for Stryker ENT. Prior to Cryosa, he was the Chief Medical Officer for Entellus Medical (ENTL), which was acquired by Stryker in 2018. Dr. Gonzales is a serial entrepreneur who has founded several successful companies in the ear, nose and throat space including Spirox Medical (acquired by Entellus) and ENTrigue Surgical (acquired by Arthrocare). Dr. Gonzales graduated from Cornell University Medical College and completed his otolaryngology residency at Tulane University.

Darrin Dickerson joined Cryosa as Vice President of Research and Development in 2021. Prior to this role, Darrin served as Senior Director of Global Portfolio Strategy and Business Model Innovation for Medtronic’s Defibrillation Solutions business. Darrin has more than 21 years of medical device experience including 18 years with Medtronic and three years in a startup. He has also had leadership roles in the semiconductor capital equipment and defense industries. Darrin holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Master of Business Administration through the executive program at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business.

Kris Selander joined Cryosa as Vice President of Clinical in 2019. She has more than 20 years of medical device experience, including clinical affairs at Guidant, Medtronic, and American Medical Systems, and clinical leadership at startups including Francis Medical, Nevro, and Inspire Medical Systems. As clinical director at Inspire Medical Systems, Kris led the early feasibility and pivotal trial for U.S. approval of the company’s Inspire therapy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from College of St. Catherine, and a master’s degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota.

Stefan Skorich is Cryosa’s R&D Director. He joined the company in 2018, bringing more than 15 years of medical device expertise in technology innovation, product development, and manufacturing disciplines. Prior to Cryosa, Stefan was project engineering manager at AtriCure, where he led a team in designing and developing AtriCure’s cryoablation devices. He also was systems engineering and technology manager for Nonin Medical, where he focused on product development. He has a master’s degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Gonzaga University.

Jason Kessler is Cryosa’s Director of Quality and joined the company in 2021 with more than 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Prior to Cryosa, Jason worked at Medtronic and had increasing responsibility for driving quality, reliability, and compliance within the business. While at Medtronic, he led a global quality engineering team which supported product development for vascular therapies. He joined Medtronic as part of the merger with Covidien and came to Covidien through an acquisition of ev3, and was instrumental in the growth of the quality system from its inception at ev3 through the integrations with Covidien and eventually Medtronic. Jason has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University and several granted patents.

James joined Santé Ventures in 2010. Previously, James served in the Air Force and was the medical director and Vice-Chair of Emergency Medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center, an academic level-one trauma center in San Antonio. He completed two tours in Iraq as a critical care transport team chief and as the emergency department commander. He separated honorably as a Major in 2008. James received his MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School Of Business, his MD from Harvard Medical School, and a BS in bioengineering, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Michigan. He is board certified in emergency medicine and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Doug is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Santé Ventures and commands more than 30 years experience as a distinguished healthcare executive. As a Fellow at the American College of Healthcare Executives, he has spoken extensively on leadership development, healthcare ventures, collaboration and reform.
Prior to founding Santé Ventures, Doug was President and CEO of Ascension Health, the largest nonprofit system in the United States, as well as Founder of Ascension Ventures.
Doug serves on the Board of Directors for several companies, including Herman Miller, Inc. He earned his graduate degree from Xavier University and his undergraduate degree in pre-medical biology from Trevecca University.

Rob joined the Cryosa Board of Directors in 2019. He has a passion to help develop and lead the commercialization of innovative technologies and business models that improve lives. Rob’s professional experience includes both early-stage and later-stage technologies at global enterprises including Medtronic, Dow, TriVascular, Stryker and Straumann Group. As of January 2022, Rob will serve as the Executive Vice President Leading Sonova’s Global Hearing Instruments business. Rob received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
